ADVANTAGES :
They are ready to use coatings and need water only for workability as required. No pre-wetting or post curing is required as curing is by air drying. Since, the products are ready to use, there is saving of labour, time, energy and material handling on site. Also, the quality is controlled at production end, thus eliminating possibility of contamination on site. They are user friendly as all ingredients in the products are non-hazardous. They increase the aesthetic appeal of the otherwise dull exterior plaster as many different appealing designs can be made.
SURFACE PREPARATION :
As with all coating systems, remove all grease, dust, fungus and algae and loose material. This can be done by grinding, scrapping, water or sand blasting, acid washing or any other suitable method. Absorbent surfaces should be treated with Aquaseal - ASG. Cracks and surface undulations shall require an extra coat of SHIELDEX.

Textured Coatings
SHIELDEX TROWEL
SHIELDEX TROWEL has been designed to specifically overcome the deficiencies of conventional interior and exterior paint systems. These systems had shortcomings like limited protective quality due to low film build which can be overcome by using SHIELDEX TROWEL. This decorative textured coating is trowel applied and can form curved,diagonal or linear recessed textures depending on the trowel movement in different directions. The textures so formed can be acquired in varying groove depths depending on fine or coarse material used.SHIELDEX BUBBLE SPRAY
SHIELDEX BUBBLE SPRAY is applied by spray gun. After the recommended surface preparation, SHIELDEX BUBBLE SPRAY can be spray applied on the surface to form an attractive and decorative as well as protective coating. This will give a beading kind of effect to the coating. Subsequently, the surface has to be coated with the required base paint in two coats. After sufficient drying, these bubbles can also be lightly pressed with a metal trowel to give a special compressed look.SHIELDEX MULTI SPRAY
SHIELDEX MULTI SPRAY is applied by spray gun in two spray applications. After the recommended surface preparation, the surface has to be coated with the required base paint in two coats.Subsequently, the first shade of SHIELDEX MULTI SPRAY can be spray applied on the surface to form an attractive and decorative as well as protective coating. After sufficient drying, the second shade should be sprayed. This will give a beading kind of effect to the coating. Also, since two separate shades have been sprayed on the surface, it will give a two toned bubble effect to the surface, much like natural stones like granite. After sufficient drying, these bubbles can also be lightly pressed wiith a metal trowel to give a special compressed look.SHIELDEX RAW SILK
SHIELDEX RAW SILK is trowel applied in two coats. This is a specialized application and can be carried out by trained applicators only. After the recommended surface preparation, the first coat of SHIELDEX RAW SILK has to be applied with a trowel in a plain smooth coat on the surface. This will fully cover the surface area to be coated. After the first coat has sufficiently dried, the application of the second coat has to be carried out, again with a trowel. The second coat does not cover the entire surface area but only certain parts of it. This would give a rough, rugged or stone like natural finish similar to the Dholpur stone.All above textured coatings can be further enhanced by giving the stone or brick wall finish of varying sizes with the help of a masking tape. These coatings should be top coated with Legacy 100% Acrylic Exterior Paint for smoother and longer lasting properties.
