Kwik Plast
Wet mix ready to use exterior rendering
KWIK PLAST is a single component wet mix, ready to use, anti-sagging, exterior rendering. It contains organic and inorganic inert fillers, aggregates and organic binding material. It is self-curing and does not require to be sprinkled with water. It can be applied directly over exterior or interior surfaces or even concrete surfaces. It can be used as a substitute for sand-cement exterior plaster, thus making it highly Eco-Friendly.
UNIQUE FEATURES
Cement materials have some major deficiencies that limit their usefulness. KWIK PLAST is especially designed to combat the shortcomings of sand-cement plaster, particularly its low flexural strength, low impact strength and formation of shrinkage cracks.
ADVANTAGES
» KWIK PLAST is a single component product and very easy to use since most masons and skilled textured coating applicators, all can use it with ease
» Has to be applied by trowel, leading to saving in time & cost of application.
» No on-site mixing of water or any other material is required leading to a dust and pollution free environment.
» No formation of shrinkage cracks.
» Can be used on all kinds of facades such as siporex blocks, concrete blocks and red clay bricks.
» Has excellent adhesive properties & very good bonding strength.
» Is unaffected by UV light or dilute acids and alkalis.
» Is highly durable even when in continuous contact with water.
» Is non toxic and non flammable.
» Can be over coated with water based paint systems.
» Non-hazardous and Zero VOC.
» Very less wastage as fallen material can be remixed and re-used very easily.
» No water curing is required. Hence there is saving of time, water and labour.
TYPICAL AREAS OF APPLICATION
1. Exterior rendering on top of various facades such as bricks, siporex or concrete blocks.
2. Interior plaster in place of neeru finish before application of putty and paint.
3. Concrete surfaces with less undulations.
4. Ideal for using as patch plasters around windows and door frames, between wall and skirting boards.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface should be clean of all loose material like dirt, dust etc. Surface should be pre-wetted for smooth application of material. If material is to be applied in more than one coat, pre-wetting of base coat by wet brush should be carried out. Pre-wetting ensures better workability, smoother application and higher coverage. All joints of bricks/blocks should be properly finished before application of material. In case of application on surface where old plaster has been removed, it is advisable to fill up voids occurring due to breaking, with a backing coat of sand-cement plaster to level the surface.
MIXING OF MATERIAL
» KWIK PLAST comes in a pre-mixed, wet paste form and as such, no water needs to be added to the mixture.
» If required, very little water can be added to the mix to improve the workability.
» Entire material from the bag should be removed in a clean container and mixed thoroughly with a spatula to ensure a uniform mix.
APPLICATION METHOD
For Base Coat :
Application should be carried out with the help of a trowel. In case of siporex/concrete blocks, Base Coat material can be applied in thickness of 4-6 mm layer. If extra layers are required to cover undulations, these can be applied subsequently once the earlier layer has dried. Material should be evened out to proper line & plumb. After application, the surface can be made slightly rough for application of subsequent layers. Care should be taken not to apply subsequent layers before earlier layers have fully dried as this may lead to extended drying/setting time or even attract cracking.
For Top/Finish Coat :
As in the case of Base Coat, application should be carried out with the help of a trowel. Top Coat material should be applied in thickness of 1-2 mm layer. To get a smooth finish, extra water can be added to the mix to hide the undulations. A Spray Plaster (Flecker) machine can be used to get sand faced finish plaster.
COVERAGE
Coverage achieved from one bag of 15 kgs of KWIK PLAST is approximately 4.5-5 sq. m. for an average thickness of 4 mm under normal conditions. The coverage of material may vary depending on the thickness of the coat applied and quality of the substrate.
CURING OF PLAST COATINGS:
KWIK PLAST does not require any water curing.
