PLASTOGUARD
Water Repellant / Impregnating Agent
PLASTOGUARD is a silicone based ready-to-use deep penetrating liquid with exceptional water repelling property. It is a colourless, breathable, non-staining, non-flammable and non-film forming water repellant. Most effective on absorbent and slightly porous mineral based building surfaces. It can be used on a wide variety of mineral substrates including brick, concrete block, stone, stucco, etc. for protecting without altering the appearance or texture of the treated substrate, for protecting without altering the appearance or texture of the treated substrate. PLASTOGUARD helps limit the damage caused to buildings by water seepage and attack of corrosive acid rain. It also helps in protecting substrates from formation of fungi and algae normally caused due to surface dampness.
ADVANTAGES
- » PLASTOGUARD is a ready-to-use solution and can be applied by brush or spraying system
- » PLASTOGUARD's low viscosity allows maximum penetration into to substrate
- » PLASTOGUARD physically and chemically bonds to surface, lengthening substrate
- » PLASTOGUARD is long lasting as it is resistant to ultraviolet light and also to alkalis
- » PLASTOGUARD does not affect the breathing capacity of impregnated surfaces
- » PLASTOGUARD reduces fungal and algal growth, and dirt pick up and making cleaning easier thereby reducing maintenance costs
- » PLASTOGUARD is formulated to minimize darkening effects [wet look] as not to change the appearance of the substrate
- » PLASTOGUARD provides excellent beading action for improved aesthetics
- » PLASTOGUARD is effective 1-2 hrs after application

PROCEDURE
Surface Preparation :
Surface must be clean and free from dirt, grease, oils, loose paint, efflorescence and should be completely dry before application of PLASTOGUARD. New concrete should be cured for at least 28 days before applying PLASTOGUARD. Cracks and joints must be filled appropriately prior to application.
Application Procedure :
Apply PLASTOGUARD by brush or spraying system. It should be applied from top downwards to ensure uniform coverage. PLASTOGUARD should be flooded on the surface so that a run down of approximately 8 to 12 inches is obtained. This is to ensure proper coverage and deep penetration beneath the surface. Minimum two coats are recommended. To ensure complete coverage second coat should be applied wet on wet.
When glazed or non-absorbing surface has to be impregnated, a preliminary trial should be carried out to test the efficiency of the application. Maximum water repellency is realized in 72 hours depending on curing conditions. PLASTOGUARD dries in 1 to 2 hours to a clear matt finish.
COVERAGE
Actual coverage will vary depending on the porosity of the substrate. The coverage may be 40-60 sq. ft per litre.
PRECAUTIONS
» Do not apply if rain is imminent within 12 hrs of application
» Uneven application may result in blotchy appearance
» Does not protect against standing water.
» Do not apply if rain is imminent within 12 hrs of application
» Do not apply on glazed tiles, glazed brick, or previously painted or sealed surface.
» Not resistant to oils and fluids
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
» The working area should be well ventilated
