PLASTOPOL SB
SBR Latex Based Cement Mortar Additive
PLASTOPOL SB is a multipurpose SBR latex based admixture for use in repair mortars and other cementitious mixes where it wholly or partially replaces the water content of the mix. Its addition to cementitious mixes increases toughness, flexural strength, tensile strength and reduces permeability, thereby increasing resistance to wetting and erosion and enhancing durability. It also improves resistance to carbonation.

PROCEDURE
- Clean the surface off all loosely held particles, dirt using a stiff wirebrush.
- Wash the surface with water to remove dust and fill up holes and repair joints, etc.
- For preparing PRIMING / BONDING SLURRY mix 1 part of PLASTOPOL SB to 1 part of ordinary portland cement. Apply one coat of this slurry, after wetting of absorbent surfaces, as bonding coat. The subsequent coatings should be applied within 10 – 15 mins i.e. before the bonding coat becomes hard set.
- For use in mortars for RENDERINGS, SCREEDS, and REPAIRS : It is recommended that 1 kg of PLASTOPOL SB be added for every 5 kg of cement. PLASTOPOL SB may be increased by 5 % depending upon the application. Cement and quartz sand should be premixed with water before addition of PLASTOPOL SB which is then mixed for a maximum of 2 minutes.
- Over the bonding slurry whilst it is still wet, apply the repair mortar to a minimum thickness of 14mm in two coats of 7 mm each. Care should be taken to compact the coating and finish it well using a steel trowel or wooden float. Curing should be done using moist gunny bags but not by spraying or bonding of water.

PLASTOPOL SB is available in 5, 20 and 50 kg carboys
